From 6–9 September 2026, České Budějovice, Czech Republic, will become a meeting point for researchers working on cyanobacteria as we welcome participants to Cyano2026 – the 10th Early Career Researcher Symposium on Cyanobacteria.
Generally organised by the Association for General and Applied Microbiology (VAAM) in Germany, Cyano2026 is being hosted and organised in the Czech Republic for the first time by Centre Algatech, part of the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
Cyano2026 brings together Master’s and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scientists from around the world. The symposium is all about sharing research, exchanging ideas, building collaborations, and growing together as a scientific community. With keynote lectures, contributed talks, posters, and plenty of opportunities for discussion and networking, the programme will showcase the diversity of current cyanobacterial research, from photosynthesis and metabolism to evolution, structural biology, natural products, and biotechnology.
